Controller and PC

Description

In Path of Titans, there are differences in how certain actions behave between controller and PC.

While drinking water, a small movement of the analog stick allows the dinosaur to slowly walk while continuing to drink. This is especially useful for smaller or low-health dinosaurs, as they can gradually move away from danger, such as a predator in the water, without completely stopping the drinking action.

There is also a difference when using a charge and opening the character panel. On controller, the charge slows down while the panel is open, while on PC, it continues at normal speed. More experienced players can use this difference to better adjust their charge, position, or trajectory during movement.

Outcomes

Observed Result

It was observed that some actions behave differently depending on the control method being used.

While drinking water, a small movement of the analog stick allows the dinosaur to move slowly while continuing to drink, allowing smaller or low-health dinosaurs to move away from danger without completely interrupting the action.

It was also observed that, during a charge, opening the character panel causes the charge to slow down when using a controller, while on PC the charge continues at normal speed. This difference can be used by more experienced players to adjust their position or charge trajectory during the movement.

These differences result in certain actions behaving differently between players using a controller and players using keyboard and mouse.

Expected Result

Both actions should behave consistently and intentionally, regardless of the control method being used.

While drinking water, a small movement of the analog stick should allow the dinosaur to slowly reposition itself while continuing to drink, keeping this function as a distinct action from simply interrupting the drinking action.

During a charge, opening the character panel should have the same effect on both controller and PC. The charge speed should not behave differently between control methods, preventing experienced players from taking advantage of this difference to gain greater control or adjust the charge trajectory.

Steps to Reproduce

1

Moving While Drinking Select a dinosaur that can drink water. Find a body of water and approach it until the drinking option becomes available. Start drinking normally. While the dinosaur is drinking, slightly move the controller's analog stick. Observe that the dinosaur starts walking slowly while continuing to perform the drinking action. Repeat the procedure near a dangerous area or another dinosaur to confirm that the player can gradually move away without interrupting the drinking act

2

Charge and Character Panel Select a dinosaur with a charge ability. On PC, activate the charge. While the charge is active, open the character panel. Observe that the charge continues at its normal speed while the panel is open. Close the panel and observe the charge behavior. Repeat the test using a controller. Observe that, when using a controller, the charge slows down while the character panel is open. Compare the two results. This difference allows more experienced players to use th
